GSMA "Case for Change" social media competition terms & conditions

GENERAL COMPETITION ENTRY TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. The Promoter is: GSM Association (UK company no. FC022395) whose registered office is at Floor 2, The Walbrook Building, 25 Walbrook, London EC4N 8AF, UK.
  2. Employees of GSM Association or their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the competition or helping to set up the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition.
  3. All entrants must be over 18, have internet access and a personal Facebook, Instagram or Twitter account. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter or win this competition. All relevant international and local laws or regulations apply. Void where prohibited.
  4. Entries will be accepted from 11:59pm on 20 January 2019 (GMT) until the closing date for entry which will be 11:59pm on 10 February 2019 (GMT). After this date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted.

  6. The promoter reserves the right to revise and update the competition rules and these terms and conditions from time to time at our sole discretion. Any changes to the competition rules or terms and conditions will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter by being posted at https://www.caseforchange.com/mycaseforchange. All changes are effective immediately when we post them, and apply to all entries whether submitted before or after the terms were amended. You are expected to check this webpage https://www.caseforchange.com/mycaseforchange from time to time so you are aware of any changes, as they are binding on you.
  7. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition. Nor does the Promoter accept responsibility for network, computer or software failures of any kind and has no responsibility for lost, delayed or misdirected entries.
  8. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  9. Winners will be chosen by an independent adjudicator from all entries received and verified by Promoter and or its agents.
  10. The winners will be notified via the social network platform they submitted their entry after the closing date. Please see the below specific terms and conditions for each relevant social media platform for the specific entry submission guidelines and winner notification procedure. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize after notification, or otherwise doesn’t comply with any of the competition terms & conditions we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner. All winners’ names will be displayed after the closing date at https://www.caseforchange.com/mycaseforchange.
  11. Winners may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize.
  12. The prize will be sent via recorded delivery to the address supplied within two weeks of notification and the winner will be required to sign to acknowledge receipt.
  13. The Promoter reserves the right to use and feature the names of the winners for publicity purposes and winners agree that they will participate in any reasonable publicity arranged by the Promoter or its agencies. By entry into the competition the winner agrees to the use of his/her competition submissions, name and image in any publicity material.
  14. All copyright in the entries is the property of the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to use any entries for such purposes with prior notice of this intention to selected entrants and no additional payment will be made for using entries in this way.
  15. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  16. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed exclusively in accordance with the laws of England and the parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England, including the seeking of all injunctive or ancillary relief actions.
  17. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and other than set out in these terms and conditions will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the following Privacy Policy found at http://www.gsma.com/aboutus/legal/privacy.
  18. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  19. GSMA makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding any prize or your participation in this promotion. By participating in this promotion, each participant agrees to release and hold GSMA and the employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives of GSMA, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with this promotion or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damages, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. In no event, regardless whether any claim is brought under contract, negligence, tort, strict liability, infringement or other legal or equitable theory, shall GSMA’s maximum aggregate liability exceed the value of the competition prize.

FACEBOOK COMPETITION ENTRY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. By entering the promotion on Facebook, entrants confirm that they have read and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and all rules and guidelines applicable to the use of Facebook including the rules located at http://www.facebook.com/terms.php
  2. To enter this competition, entrants must post a video of themselves on their account answering the following question in no less than 10 seconds. “How would you use mobile technology to create a better future?” and then all eligible entries will be considered by an independent adjudicator on merit for prize allocation.
  3. One entry allowed per person. Entries submitted on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed. Incomplete, illegible, misdirected or late entries will not be accepted.
  4. The name of the person submitting an entry into the promotion must be the name of the authorized account holder of the Facebook account used to enter, otherwise, the entry may be deemed void. In the event of a dispute over the identity of a potential winner, the entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the Facebook account used during the entry process. The potential winner may be required to provide identification sufficient to show that he/she is the authorized account holder of such account.
  5. Each winner will be notified within five working days of selection via Facebook direct message to the account from which the entry was made and will be asked to provide their full name and address. If a winner fails to respond within five working days of this notification, a redraw will take place from the remaining valid entries to select a new winner. If any winner declines a prize or fails to respond within the required period, they forfeit any right to the prize.
  6. The Promoter reserves the right to discount any inappropriate or offensive entries and to disqualify any entries if the Promoter, at its sole discretion, believes that there has been an attempt to manipulate or tamper with the operation of the promotion (including, without limitation, by setting up multiple Facebook or other social media accounts in order to submit multiple entries).

INSTAGRAM AND TWITTER COMPETITION ENTRY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. By entering the promotion via Instagram and/or Twitter, entrants confirm that they have read and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and all rules and guidelines applicable to the use of Instagram and Twitter including the rules located at,

  2. To enter this competition, entrants must post a video of themselves on their account answering the following question in no less than 10 seconds. “How would you use mobile technology to create a better future?” Pair with the hashtag, #MYCaseForChange. Any entries that do not contain the hashtag and Instagram handle will not be valid. All valid entries will be moderated, and then all eligible entries will be considered by an independent adjudicator on merit for prize allocation.
  3. One entry allowed per person. Entries submitted on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed. Incomplete, illegible, misdirected or late entries will not be accepted. Any entrant found to be using multiple accounts to enter the Promotion will not be eligible to win the Prize.
  4. Each winner who participated on Instagram will be notified within 48 hours after the end of the Promotional Period via a direct message from the Case For Change account on the respective account entered on. Whereas on Twitter, the winner will be notified via Case For Change responding to the individuals entry. To claim acceptance of the Prize, the winner must supply their name, postal address and phone number. Winners will have 24 hours to claim their Prize. If a winner fails to redeem the Prize within this time period, the Promoter reserves the right to award the Prize to another entrant. If any winner declines a prize or fails to respond within the required period, they forfeit any right to the prize.
  5. The name of the person submitting an entry into the promotion must be the name of the authorized account holder of the Instagram/Twitter account used to enter, otherwise, the entry may be deemed void. GSMA “CASE FOR CHANGE” SOCIAL MEDIA COMPETITION RULES

The below rules govern cover the GSMA “CASE FOR CHANGE” SOCIAL MEDIA COMPETITION (the “Competition”) that is administered by the GSM Association, a trade association with its principal place of business at Floor 2, the Walbrook Building, 25 Walbrook, London EC4N 8AF, UK:

1. WHO CAN ENTER

All entrants must be over 18, have internet access and a personal Facebook, Instagram or Twitter account.

2. HOW TO ENTER

Competition entries will be accepted as of 11:59pm on 20 January 2019 (GMT). All entrants must follow the below entry procedure for the relevant social media platform and the Competition Submission Guidelines*:

Facebook

To enter this competition, entrants must post a video of themselves on their account answering the following question in no less than 10 seconds. “How would you use mobile technology to create a better future?” and then all eligible entries will be considered by an independent adjudicator on merit for prize allocation.

Instagram and Twitter

To enter this competition, entrants must post a video of themselves on their account answering the following question in no less than 10 seconds. “How would you use mobile technology to create a better future?” Pair with the hashtag, #MYCaseForChange. Any entries that do not contain the hashtag and Instagram handle will not be valid. All valid entries will be moderated, and then all eligible entries will be considered by an independent adjudicator on merit for prize allocation.

3. ARE YOU A WINNER

The winner’s name will be displayed 10 days after the closing date, 11:59pm on 10 February 2019 (GMT), at https://www.caseforchange.com/mycaseforchange

*Competition Submission Guidelines
As determined by GSMA, in its sole discretion, entries must comply with these competition rules and the relevant social media network posting guidelines. GSMA reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is accompanied by comments or posts which: (a) are sexually explicit or suggestive, unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group, profane or pornographic, or contain nudity; (b) promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing), any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any particular political agenda or message; (c) are obscene or offensive, endorse any form of hate or hate group; (d) promote terrorist acts such as providing instructions on how to assemble bombs, grenades and other such weapons or provide instructional information about illegal activities; (e) defame, misrepresent or contain disparaging or slanderous remarks about GSMA, its customers or its products, or other people, products or companies; (f) contain trademarks, logos or trade dress owned by others (except GSMA’s), or advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind (except GSMA’s), without permission, or contain any personal identification, such as personal names, e-mail addresses, license plate numbers, or street addresses; (g) contain copyrighted materials owned by others 3 (including photographs, sculptures, paintings and other works of art, stills, or images published on or in television, movies, the Internet or other media, except such materials owned by GSMA) without permission; (h) contain background artwork, unless it is an original work of the entrant; (i) contain materials embodying the names, likenesses, photographs, or other indicia identifying any person, living or dead, other than the entrant, without permission; (j) communicate messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which GSMA wishes to associate; (k) depict, and cannot itself, be in violation of any law.
