When it comes to heart healthcare, a quick and accurate diagnosis can save lives – and now mobile connectivity is giving more children at risk free heart health checks when they need it.
Wanting to learn more about this amazing project, Mr Zhang Yi Shan meets 9-year-old Yu Wenhao in one of China’s most remote areas, Wujiajiangzi Village. Her life was saved after being screened for an Atrial Septal Defect – a hole in the heart – back in 2014.
After hearing Yu Wenhao’s story, Mr Zhang Yi Shan discovers more about how this project – a collaboration between China Mobile and TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital – came about. This amazing, life-saving mobile screening unit has screened over 33,000 children for free in the past few years, helping spot and diagnose problems in even the most remote areas. Our connected world is ensuring that all children are now increasingly able to access life-changing healthcare facilities.
Making its way around the world, the Case For Change is packed with everything people need to tell their stories on what mobile operators globally are doing to tackle the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). China Mobile’s work with SDGs 3 and 10 is helping create a future where good health and well-being for all ensures no child is left behind.
